The Indian Cricket Board recently released the annual contract for 2024. There were four players in the topmost Grade A+ in the list. The star players like Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, and Virat Kohli were on the list as the top-paid players by the Indian Board. Some of the players were claimed to be in different groups, while the others were claimed to be properly grouped.

What caught the attention of the fans, which was in a way pretty obvious, was the exclusion of the duo of Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan from the central contracts. Reports had claimed that the Indian Cricket Board was likely to exclude the players from their central contracts. They have been proven right following the announcement of the Indian Cricket Board.

The duo has not had a great time in cricket recently. While Iyer is struggling to score runs in the longest format of the game, Kishan has been involved in a lot of controversies for his moves. The Indian Cricket Board was not impressed by the duo at all. As a result, strict action has been taken against the duo which could act as an example for the players in the upcoming days.

Deepak Chahar snubbed from Central contracts

Jay Shah, the secretary of the Indian Cricket Board, addressed the players and warned them not to miss out on playing domestic cricket. In a press release, he claimed that the players who fail to follow the protocols would land themselves in trouble. As per the promise, the Indian Cricket Board seems to have executed the rule. It is to be seen if the star players feature in any squad of India after the IPL.

In addition to Iyer and Kishan, Deepak Chahar has also been left out of the central contracts. The Rajasthan pacer failed to take part in the Ranji Trophy 2024. As a result, he has been excluded from any grade in India. In fact, it has been a long time since the right-arm pacer played a game for India.
