Pakistan must be praying Mohammad Rizwan is not injured

Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan has emerged as a national hero after his brilliant innings against India.

He scored a crucial half-century in the team’s thrilling victory against India in the Asia Cup Super Four stage on Sunday.

However, there is a twist in the tale.

Rizwan had suffered the injury in the 15th over of the Indian innings.

He fell down awkwardly while trying to collect a bouncer from Mohammad Hasnain from well over his head.

As a result, he suffered a minor injury on his right knee and was sent for a medical scan.

In fact, Rizwan was in considerable pain and the Pakistan physio rushed to the ground to assist him.

Despite the pain, Rizwan went on to bat brilliantly and and made a huge contribution in the run chase with a 51-ball 71.

According to reports, Rizwan had undergone an MRI scan after the game.

Now we are hearing that a follow-up scan has been also recommended as a precautionary measure.

All of Pakistan must be hoping the injury is not serious as Rizwan is the key to their Asia Cup hopes.
