Imad Wasim has announced a shocking retirement from international cricket. The Pakistani All-rounder took to X and announced his decision for the world. The 34-year-old said that he had thinking about it a lot in recent times and felt it as a right period for him to announce retirement from Pakistan cricket. Imad thanked Pakistan cricket for their support to his international cricket career.

Wasim said that he felt honored to represent Pakistan in international cricket. The 34-year-old said that in each of the 121 matches he played for Pakistan; it was like living his dream. Imad said that Pakistan has an exciting future ahead of them, given the change in coaches and leadership. The All-rounder wished the people with new responsibilities the luck and said that he would observe them excelling.

Imad thanked the Pakistan fans for supporting him and the team with full passion. Wasim extended his thanks to the friends and family members, who were instrumental in his success at the highest level. The Southpaw said that he would be looking forward to his career out of international cricket. For a long time, Wasim was the key All-rounder for Pakistan. Against big teams, Imad had good numbers.

Good numbers in limited overs cricket for Pakistan

In recent times, Wasim was arguably the best All-rounder for Pakistan. Unfortunately, he was not picked in the squad of Pakistan in the big tournaments like the T20 World Cup 2022 and the ODI World Cup 2023. After a lot of thinking about his future, Imad seemed to have come to the conclusion of retiring from international cricket. Imad retires with very good numbers to his name as an All-rounder in international cricket.

In 55 ODIs, Wasim scored 986 runs at a batting average of 42.9, at a batting strike rate of 110.3. With the ball, Imad claimed 44 wickets at a good economy rate of 4.88. In T20Is, Imad scored 486 runs at a batting average of 15.2, at a batting strike rate of 131.7. As a bowler, Imad claimed 65 wickets in 66 innings at a fantastic economy rate of just 6.26, at a bowling average of 21.8.
