Saudi Pro League club Al Nassr announced Sadio Mane as their latest player with a tweet from their official Instagram handle. The Senegalese superstar is all set to join Cristiano Ronaldo’s men as he leaves Bayern Munich after one season of joining from Liverpool. Mane won six major trophies in his time with the Premier League giants including the coveted UEFA Champions League in 2019 and the Premier League in the following season.

Earlier on Tuesday, Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel talked at length about Mane’s imminent departure from the German club. He said, “It was the best solution to untie the knot. We had a long, big hug and we both agreed we don’t like what’s happening now, but we think it’s for the best in this situation. Sometimes things don’t work out as everybody wants. I have always had a very good relationship with him and this will stay. I can totally understand he feels hurt and I also wouldn’t feel happy if things like this happened. Obviously, it’s something that we didn’t bring into the full potential, which is my responsibility, but in this particular situation it was the best solution to untie the knot.”

Sadio Mane will earn a reported 650,000 pounds per week at Al Nassr

Mane has been reported to become one of the highest-paid players in the Saudi Pro League. While a transfer fee of 24 million pounds has been agreed on with Bayern, the player will earn 34 million pounds a year at Al Nassr. That accounts for a whopping figure of 650,000 pounds a week. However, he is still behind the Real Madrid duo of Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema who earn a reported 173 million pounds and 172 million pounds a year, respectively.

Sadio Mane was famed to have formed one of the most famous attacking trios with Liverpool colleagues Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah. Interestingly, Firmino will also play in the Saudi Pro League after joining Al Ahli on 4 July. Among other major players moving to the Middle Eastern league are Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kante of Al Ittihad, Riyad Mahrez, and Edouard Mendy of Al Ahli.
