Bollywood and Cricket are the most popular topics among Indians. Cricketers and Bollywood celebrities enjoy unmatched fame in India and the two industries often collaborate with each other. While Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises like Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are owned by Bollywood stars, actors and directors often attend cricket events to use their reach and popularity for film promotions.

Similarly, Salman Khan visited the Studios of IPL’s official broadcaster Star Sports to promote his film, ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan.’ Interestingly, Salman Khan talked at length about his favourite cricketer while in the studios. “There is a boy who came from North to become the captain of the Chennai Team. He is my favourite. This time too, Dhoni’s love for Chennai and cricket will make him do something really special,” Salman said revealing that MS Dhoni is his favourite cricketer. He also said that Virat Kohli is the fittest cricketer right now, per him. “There was a boy very, very hardworking, focused only on his game and he became the fittest cricketer,” he spoke about Kohli.

Salman Khan starrer ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’ remained a commercial flop

While ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’ remained a commercially unsuccessful release, Salman’s favourite cricketer MS Dhoni went on to lead Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to their fifth IPL title that equalled the record for most title wins in the IPL, held by Mumbai Indians (MI). Notably, CSK defeated Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Titans (GT) in the final to lift the shining silverware. On the other hand, Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) failed to qualify for the Playoffs of IPL 2023.

Salman Khan is currently engaged in the second season of the reality show Bigg Boss’s OTT version called Bigg Boss OTT Season 2. He appears on screen in special weekend episodes called ‘Weekend ka Vaar’. Talking about his upcoming films, he will be seen on the silver screen in upcoming films like Tiger vs Pathan and Tiger 3 of the popular Tiger franchise of movies.
