Shoaib Malik bowled poorly in an over in the Bangladesh Premier League 2024. The star Pakistan cricketer bowled 3 no-balls in an over against Khulna Tigers and conceded a total of 18 runs in the over while bowling for Fortune Barishal. Malik’s side lost the match by eight wickets at Mirpur and one of the key factors behind the loss was Malik’s poor performance with the ball.

Malik joined the squad of Fortune Barishal in 2024 days after his new marriage. Evin Lewis did not mind the poor bowling from the former Pakistan cricketer as he managed to score 18 runs in the over. In his stay in the middle, Lewis scored 53 runs in 22 balls, which changed the game completely. The knock of the Southpaw helped his side to sail through.

Earlier in the match, Barishal scored a good total of 187/4 on the board in their 20 overs. Considering the nature of Mirpur’s wicket, it was a winning total. Mushfiqur Rahim scored 68*, while Tamim Iqbal scored 40 runs before Mahmudullah finished well in the death overs. Malik batted in the middle and scored only five runs in six balls which did not help his team’s cause.

Is Shoaib Malik’s fixed?

Many fans started questioning the intention of Malik while blowing. Others pointed out that a spinner cannot bowl as many huge no-balls as Malik did. A spinner bowling three no-balls in an over is a rarity. But Shoaib managed to pull it off. Fans have started to doubt if the star cricketer was involved in fixing the same. The 2017 Champions Trophy winner did cross the crease a bit higher than usual.

The fans also pointed out the stance of the non-striker. Anamul Haque, standing in the non-striker’s end, was way behind the stumps. Fans doubted the legitimacy of the bowling of Malik and doubted if there was a fair attempt from the experienced campaigner to bowl well for his side. Fans doubted if Anamul was aware of so many no-balls being bowled by Malik.
