Newly appointed RCB Head Coach Andy flower speaks high of Yash Dayal
Andy Flower spoke about the pick of Yash Dayal in the IPL auction 2024. After the completion of the auction, the newly appointed Head coach of RCB spoke about the skills of many players and the motive behind buying them. Andy spoke about some of the picks in the auction and said that he was aware of the specialities of some of the players they bought.
Flower spoke about the trade of Cameron Green and said that it allowed RCB to get the firepower in the middle, which allowed them to target other players they wanted in the auction. “With the recruitment of Cameron Green, we certainly wanted to get some power into the middle order. So, if we have got (Glenn) Maxwell and Green at four and five, it gives us that power,” said Flower.
Andy further spoke about the players in their lineup who are already some established stars. The Zimbabwean said that experienced campaigners like Virat, Faf, DK, Maxwell, and others can be trusted to come good. He further added that they got a lineup that could set up totals and chase down huge totals. Flower then spoke about the skills of Dayal as a bowler and backed him to deliver the goods.
‘We believe he has got high potential’ – Yash Dayal
“We have got DK (Dinesh Karthik) at number six and obviously the class of Faf (Du Plessis), Virat (Kohli) and (Rajat) Patidar upfront. We think that is a really great top six. We should be able to set big totals and chase down big totals,” said Flower. The RCB coach was well aware of Dayal’s bad pouting against Rinku Singh and felt that such instances happen in a cricketer’s career.
“As far as Yash Dayal is concerned, we saw some of his potential last year, certainly with the new ball for swing and wicket-taking potential. I know he had a hard time at the death occasionally, but we believe he has got high potential, and we are looking for great things from him,” added Flower. Yash Dayal was bought by RCB for INR 5 crores.
