New trend on X after Glenn Maxwell’s sensational knock against Afghanistan
There is a new trend on X after Afghanistan’s loss against Australia in the ODI World Cup 2023. Glenn Maxwell’s heroics with the bat were appreciated by cricket fans all over the world. The knock of Maxwell helped Australia to singlehandedly beat Afghanistan. From a near-impossible situation, Australia came back well and won the match by 3 wickets. Maxwell played one of the greatest innings of all time.
After the knock of Maxwell, Irfan Pathan’s name has been trending on X. Formerly known as Twitter, X is a social media platform and is famous for interaction among people. On X, Irfan Pathan started trending as soon as Maxwell won the match for Australia against Afghanistan. The supporters of Pakistan who wanted to see Australia winning the match so that it could help their qualification, were happy with Maxwell’s performance.
It is interesting to note that the former Indian cricketer has been dancing with Rashid Khan, the Afghanistan player, after every win of the latter’s team. In every game Afghanistan has won till now, Pathan danced with Rashid to show his support for the team. Right from the game against England, Pathan has been following the process. But he could not perform it against Australia, as they sealed the win against Afghanistan.

Following Australia’s win, the supporters of Pakistan started to trend Pathan’s name, indicating that he could not dance for Afghanistan’s loss against Australia. Earlier this World Cup, Afghanistan had beaten Pakistan in a thrilling game in Chennai’s MA Chidambaram stadium. Following the big win of Afghanistan, Pathan had danced with Rashid Khan.
It did not go well with many Pakistan fans. Some of the former cricketers like Mohammad Amir openly spoke about it and in fact, went on to say that they would dance after Pakistan’s wins. As Australia defeated Afghanistan, Pakistan was happy that their qualification got strengthened and they got indirect revenge over Afghanistan and Pathan.
