National Cinema Day 2023: Great opportunity for movie buffs to watch any film for just Rs 99
The COVID-19 pandemic has taken a toll on all sectors, with the film industry being one of the major sectors that has been gripped for a long time. That nearly two-and-a-half-year period saw a massive rise in OTT platforms, which has made it convenient for people to watch movies and shows from their homes. However, the industry flourished again with the release of a few blockbuster films.
It has now become a challenge for filmmakers to make movies that are capable of bringing the audience to the theatres. Not only in Bollywood, but across industries we have seen films giving more importance to sound effects and visual effects that can be fully enjoyed only in theatres. In particular, this year has been great for the movie sector, with several films ruling the box office and breaking multiple records. Shah Rukh Khan‘s ‘Jawan’ and Rajinikanth’s ‘Jailer’ are a couple of prime examples.
Meanwhile, in a bid to bring more people to the theatres, National Cinema Day 2023 will be observed across India on Friday, October 13. National Cinema Day was first introduced in 2022, conceived by multiplexes to address low footfalls. For the unversed, this special day for movie enthusiasts aims to encourage people to return to theatres. The idea came up after the movie industry incurred huge losses due to the pandemic.
Last year National Cinema Day was observed on September 23 and was a huge success. There is no specific day to celebrate it, but every year multiplex owners decide a date by consensus. The move is expected to attract a large number of moviegoers to the theatres, as they can watch any movie for just Rs 99.
National Cinema Day is back on October 13th. Join us at over 4000+ screens across India for an incredible cinematic experience, with movie tickets priced at just Rs. 99. Films like Jawan and Gadar 2 are still ruling the box office, and fans are expected to take advantage of this massive opportunity. Akshay Kumar`s ‘Mission Raniganj’, Bhumi Pednekar`s ‘Thank You For Coming’ and the third part of the comedy franchise, ‘Fukrey 3’ are also running successfully.
