Most runs conceded by an Indian in a T20I match
Australia won the third T20I against India by 5 wickets, pulling off an exceptional run chase in Guwahati. After opting to bowl first, Australia conceded 222 runs in their 20 overs. In the last over of the innings, Glenn Maxwell conceded a whopping 30 runs, which gave a momentum booster for the home side. It was the same Maxwell who stole the match away from India, albeit with the bat.
When 43 runs were required in the last 2 overs of the match, Maxwell sealed the match for Australia. In the innings of Maxwell, there were some exceptional boundaries. Throughout the match, Prasidh Krishna bowled with clueless plans. As a result, India had to endure a huge loss, as they conceded the highest-ever run chase in a T20I match. Prasidh Krishna became the Indian bowler with the most expensive spell in a T20I match.

Arshdeep Singh was at his best just before the T20 World Cup 2022. But even in his best form, Arshdeep conceded the then-most expensive spell by an Indian pacer in the shortest format. The left-arm pacer conceded 62 runs against South Africa, which was poor for a bowler even on a flat track. It remained the most expensive spell by an Indian pacer for more than a year.

Much like Arshdeep, Chahal conceded his most expensive spell in T20Is when he was in his prime. Coincidentally, even the spinner’s spell came against South Africa. But this one rather came away from Indian conditions. In South Africa, India was for an all-format tour in 2018. In the T20I series, Chahal conceded 64 runs in his spell, which helped the home side stay alive.

In the latest instance, Krishna held a new unwanted record for himself. The Indian pacer conceded 68 runs in an innings against Australia, which helped the visiting side chase down the target of 223 runs. Glenn Maxwell was sensational with the bat, as he scored the fastest hundred by an Australian while chasing a target. The spell of Krishna is now the most expensive by an Indian bowler in T20Is.
