Arch-rivals India and Pakistan are set to clash in yet another mega event and the hype is slowly building. The cricketing fraternity is going to witness another epic thriller when the two neighbouring nations face off in the 2024 T20 World Cup scheduled to begin on June 01. The much-anticipated IND vs PAK fixture will be played on June 9 at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.

Whenever the two clash, it turns out to be a blockbuster and a crowd-puller. Despite the game being set to take place three months later, reports reveal that the ticket prices for the IND vs PAK match have already skyrocketed. Phase 1 of ticket sales for the premier 20-over tournament started on February 22 by the public ballot window system.

Meanwhile, tickets for limited matches were made available on a first-come-first-served basis. Some fans are now selling tickets on the resale market, and it is learned that prices have reached the level of NBA or Major League Baseball. According to a report in USA Today, tickets for India’s match against Pakistan are being sold on resale websites like StubHub and SeatGeek for more than double the original price.

VIP Tickets being sold at Rs 40 Lakh!

The price of VIP tickets on these resale websites is around Rs 33.15 lakh, and if the platform fee is added, it goes up to over Rs 40 lakh. On StubHub, the cheapest ticket for the IND vs PAK is INR 1.04 lakhs. On the other hand, SeatGeek charges INR 1.86 crore for the most expensive ticket for the arch-rivals clash.

“We expected that to have a good interest in tickets, both in the West Indies and the U.S., especially the novelty of being a World Cup. But the response we’ve got is actually very, very exciting. Very well beyond our expectations actually,” Tournament director Fawwaz Baksh said to USA TODAY.

“Being a new market, you’re not always sure what the response will be, but it was almost an easy job getting people in. They definitely want to see the magic. If they’re still unsuccessful, they can still enjoy the tournament and feel part of the action by visiting the fan parks and participating in the many activities that will be planned leading up to the tournament and around tournament time,” he concluded.
