Marcelo signs for Greek club Olympiakos

Real Madrid legend Marcelo has officially signed for Olympiakos in the Greek Super League.

This has finally ended a long summer of speculation about where his future would lie.

For some time, there was talk that Marcelo will make a dream return to his boyhood club Fluminense.

However, Greek football fans will be thrilled to see the Brazilian maestro in action.

Apparently, the contract is for one year, with an option for an additional year.

An attacking left back, or wing back, Marcelo spent the past 16 season playing for Real Madrid, where he accumulated the most titles in the club’s history.

The 25 titles included six La Ligas, five Champions Leagues, five Supercopa de Espana, four Club World Cups, three Uefa Super Cups and two Copa del Reys.

He also made 58 appearances for Brazil from 2006-18, including the 2014 and 2018 World Cups.

Olympiakos is the winner of the last three Greek Super League titles.

With Marcelo on its rolls, it is is seeking to win a record 48th trophy this season.
