According to latest transfer gossip, Manchester United is prepared to make Casemiro the second-highest paid player at the club.

They are willing to offer the Brazilian star a lucrative five-year deal.

Indeed Casemiro has emerged as a last-minute transfer target, amidst Man United’s shocking performances in the opening 2 matches of the Premier League.

Although Casemiro is a five-time Champions League winner and part of the legendary trio of midfielders that include Kroos and Modric, the reigning La Liga champions might sell him, if the price is right.

Having achieved everything possible at Real Madrid, Casemiro might relent, as his long-time erstwhile colleague Varane is also at United.

Of course, Man United will break the bank for Casemiro!

They have offered to almost double Casemiro’s current salary – which is believed to be around £190,000-a-week.

That would make him second only to Cristiano Ronaldo in United’s wage structure.

Also, the length of the deal would keep him at Old Trafford until 2027 and can be the perfect retirement package.

Casemiro’s current deal with Real expires in 2025.

Also, Casemiro will turn 31 in February and will agree that getting a similar lucrative 5 year deal from Real Madrid is next to impossible.

Accordingly, the Brazilian informed Real president Florentino Perez of United’s approach on Wednesday.

Nobody knows what is on Casemiro’s mind but it’s likely that he is considering the offer.

Florentino Perez has reiterated that Real want to keep the Brazilian.

At the same time, he stated that they will not stand in his way if a suitable offer is made.

As per our sources, €70million is the likely figure which Real Madrid have in mind, which will be a fantastic recouping of an investment that has already paid off, in footballing terms.

United have yet to formalise their contract offer for Casemiro.

They haven’t made official contact with Real Madrid as they have bad memories about how Sergio Ramos used Man United’s offer to wrangle a better deal from the Los Blancos.

So, they will proceed only after receiving an iron-clad assurance from Casemiro.

Casemiro’s departure will not worry manager Carlo Ancelotti much as summer signing Aurelien Tchouameni is touted to be a long term replacement.

Besides, they also have Modric, Kroos, Valverde, Camavinga and Ceballos as midfield options.
