Man United transfers that could happen in next 7 days

The biggest issue Man United face is the future of Cristiano Ronaldo that needs resolving one way or another.

As far as new manager Erik ten Hag is concerned, either the 37-year-old forward accepts being rotated in and out of the team and performs or gets out.

Genuine suitors are slim, though.

The only firm offer this summer came from a Saudi Arabian club offering megabucks.

Sides in the Champions League so far either can’t afford Ronaldo or feel they do not need him, such as Atletico Madrid and Sporting Lisbon.

Ten Hag still wants another attacker in regardless, and probably two if Ronaldo does leave.

A new goalkeeper to push David de Gea is also expected, with Kevin Trapp, Eintracht Frankfurt’s Germany international, among the names being considered.

United might sign a right-back if Aaron Wan-Bissaka leaves.

However, Brandon Williams is set to stay after spending last season out on loan.

Williams could also offer an alternative to Diogo Dalot.

Crystal Palace are interested in Wan-Bissaka but at a vastly reduced sum compared to the £50million United paid them for him three years ago.

A loan is possible for Wan-Bissaka too.

Ajax are expecting an improved bid from Old Trafford for winger Antony.

Antony and his agents are pushing for the move after United submitted an initial €80million offer last Wednesday.

Ajax want €100million but a figure of €92 million has been mentioned as a potential compromise.

Cody Gakpo represents an alternative, with PSV Eindhoven thought to be open to a sale at €50million.

Chelsea’s Christian Pulisic is a loan option for Man United too.

In fact, Chelsea asked about Harry Maguire in talks regarding the American forward but United’s captain is expected to stay.

United have looked at centre-forwards but the most likely signing, Atletico Madrid’s Alvaro Morata, is deemed too expensive.

James Garner has, perhaps surprisingly, been made available for transfer, with sources saying United are looking for at least £14million.

Southampton, Everton and Nottingham Forest have shown interest.
