Man United sack Solskjaer

Manchester United’s board finally decided to pull the trigger on manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s three-year reign at the club.

This was following their latest humiliating defeat to Watford at Vicarage Road.

In an emergency board meeting on Saturday evening, the Glazers decided it’s time to end his tenure.

This decision comes on the back of an embarrassing 4-1 defeat to Watford away at Vicarage Road on Saturday afternoon.

Manchester United will seek to appoint an interim boss between now and the end of the season.

Till such time, Michael Carrick will be taking charge in a caretaker capacity.

The interim boss will arrive on a fixed term contract, with United simultaneously looking to hire a permanent manager from next summer.

Possible options as interim boss include Laurent Blanc or Ralf Rangnick.

By the summer it is very possible Erik Ten Hag will be ready to leave Ajax, or Mauricio Pochettino could become available.

The pool of potential permanent candidates is slim right now, and United stand a better chance of getting it right next summer.
