Cristiano Ronaldo showed by frustration at being left on the bench with another bout of unacceptable behaviour.

With United cruising to a 2-0 victory over Tottenham, Ronaldo decided to leave the match early rather than stay until the end to celebrate an impressive win with his teammates.

The Portugal star exited down the touchline and into the tunnel before the final whistle.

Ronaldo was overlooked as a substitute as Ten Hag instead introduced Scott McTominay, Anthony Elanga and Christian Eriksen off the bench.

In Ronaldo’s absence, Man United put on an impressive display of attacking football against Spurs, with goals from Fred and Bruno Fernandes.

It is not the first time that Erik ten Hag as benched the star forward.

Just before the clock hit 90 minutes, the 37-year-old stormed off down the tunnel in anger, even though there was still a chance that he could be subbed on.

Ten Hag has said he will deal with Ronaldo later and wanted to focus on celebrating the huge win.

Many pundits watching the game were furious with the Portugal international.

Former Premier League defender Danny Mills said, “It’s a little bit of a selfish act to go, “oh actually I’m not involved”, he knows full well that everybody’s going to see it.”

“And I feel sorry for United now, and Ten Hag because that’s an outstanding result against a top side and all it’s going to be about is Ronaldo.”

“It’s an absolute disgrace, I think it’s incredibly disrespectful to the team, to the manager, to the fans.”

Over the summer, Ronaldo failed in his attempts to leave Man United but a January exit looks likely after his latest tantrum.
