‘Maa kehti hai, umar ho gayi hai’ – Karan Johar reveals how his mom teases him for his funky fashion style
Bollywood’s renowned filmmaker and producer Karan Johar is known for his jolly nature and interesting social media posts. Johar founded ‘Dharma Production’, under which, he launched many actors who have achieved new heights in the Indian film industry. Apart from this, Johar is also known for his unique and funky fashion style through which he often remains in the headlines.
Meanwhile, Johar recently attended the screening of Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor starrer movie ‘Bawaal’ where the filmmaker was spotted in a simple black suit and surprised his fans as he donned a normal outfit which is quite rare. He also posted some pictures on his Instagram handle in the outfit and wrote a caption revealing that his mother Hiroo Johar tells him to wear good clothes.
“Ma kehti hai ‘umar ho gayi hai… dhang ke kapde pehno….’ Mom aapke liye yeh seedha sadha suit…. par dil phir bhi kehta hai … yeh bright rang kab mujhse chodega (Mother tells me ‘You are old… wear suitable clothes… Mom, this plain suit is for you (but my heart still wants to know when will the colours leave me alone)… styled by a sedate @ekalakhani in a classic @goyalkanika shot by a surprised @sheldon.santos,” the caption reads.
This is the career-best performance of Varun and Janhvi
Bawaal will be premiered on Amazon Prime on 21 July. This is the first when both these actors are cast to work together. Johar shared his thoughts after watching the movie on his Instagram story and said that this is the most unusual and original love story. He even believes that this is the career-best performance from Varun and Janhvi.
“Possibly the most unusual and original love story you have seen in the mainstream… directed with nuance, abandon and yet so much restrain… it moved me in so many moments… proud film for Sajid to back and for @primevideo to house and the cherry on the cake is the career-best performance of @varundvn and @janhvikapoor… They are the heartbeat of Bawaal @niteshtiwari22 @nadiadwalagrandson,” he wrote.
