‘Kohli and Rohit won’t stay for long’ – Harbhajan Singh snubs two star cricketers from his India’s Asia Cup 2023 squad
Many Indian cricket team fans are waiting for the Indian Cricket Board to announce India’s squad for the upcoming Asia Cup 2023. However, many cricket experts and former cricketers have shared their choice of India’s playing XI. It’d be interesting what major changes will India make in their squad for the upcoming tournament.
Meanwhile, former legendary Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh also picked up his playing XI for the upcoming Asia Cup but he snubbed two major stars from the squad which is quite shocking. Harbhajan picked up all three veteran spinners Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal in the squad.
Surprisingly, there were 3 surprising inclusions in Harbhajan’s squad which were Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma and KL Rahul. Suryakumar’s performance in the ODI format has been horrible. On the other hand, Varma hasn’t played a single ODI match as of now. While Rahul will be making his comeback from the injury he sustained during IPL 2023.
Kohli and Rohit weren’t there, and they won’t stay for long: Harbhajan Singh
Interestingly, Harbhajan ignored Sanju Samson and Shreyas Iyer. Samson has an average of 55 in the ODI format while Iyer has been brilliant for the Indian team while playing in the middle-order. Harbhajan also shared his views on India’s recent loss against West Indies in the T20I series. Harbhajan said that it is true that Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma weren’t present in the squad but they won’t be there for too long and the Indian team should think about winning the series without them.
“I thought India would win that series easily. But the result has left many shocked and concerned. I was taken aback as well because West Indies, a team that did not make the World Cup, beat us. This indeed is a big achievement for West Indies, but a major concern for India. Yes, Kohli and Rohit weren’t there, and they won’t stay for long, but this young brigade that had toured West Indies have a learn a lot from this. I previously said that India can make 2-3 teams, and they still can, but the results are yet to reflect,”
