Kapil Dev expresses his disappointment over India’s loss in ODI World Cup final 2023

The loss of India in the final of the ODI World Cup 2023 has disappointed many fans, former cricketers, and lovers of the game. Till the final against Australia, India looked so good and dominant in the tournament. In the final step, India could not overcome the spirit and will of Australia to win the match. It has led to the heartbreak of many fans in India and looks worse.

It has been 4 days since the final was completed. India is set to face Australia in the first of the five T20Is in Vishakhapatnam. The fans are not able to forget the defeat of India in the final. The men in blue are looking to test some of its youngsters in the series against Australia to prepare for the T20 World Cup 2024. Many key players from the ODI squad are rested for the T20I series.

With Suryakumar Yadav leading a young side against Australia, fans will be witnessing a young side in the shorter formats. Meanwhile, Kapil Dev has commented on India’s loss in the final of the ODI World Cup 2023. In a launch event of a book, the former Indian captain expressed his disappointment over India’s loss in the final of the tournament.

At the book launch event, Kapil was asked several questions. The former World champion revealed that MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai was his favourite stadium to play cricket. After that, Kapil commented about India’s disappointing loss. The former All-rounder said that India played so well and could not win the final, which was disappointing and disheartening for him.

The former Indian cricketer further hoped for India to perform better in the upcoming tournaments by learning from their mistakes and believed that it has been a trait of India over the years. “I’m disappointed and disheartened that they played so well and yet they couldn’t win the trophy. But (it) doesn’t matter. Let’s hope what we didn’t understand this time, we’ll learn and do it better. That’s the way we are,” said Kapil.
