‘Kantara Chapter 1’ teaser reveals cinematic extravaganza like never before
Kantara: A Legend, directed by Rishab Shetty, emerged as one of the standout successes of 2022, raking in an impressive INR 397 crores at the box office. Notably, the film was crafted on a modest budget of just INR 14 crores, underscoring its remarkable appeal and the audience’s overwhelming affection.
Following the tremendous triumph of Kantara, Rishab Shetty is making a comeback with Kantara: Chapter 1. The teaser for this eagerly awaited sequel was unveiled by the prestigious production house Hombale Films on November 27. Intriguingly, this instalment serves as a prequel to the initial release, offering viewers a glimpse into the director’s visionary world. In the teaser, Rishab Shetty is showcased in a never-before-seen avatar, inviting audiences to immerse themselves in the captivating narrative he has skillfully crafted.

The distinctive roar that resonated in the first released movie makes a resounding return, heralding the genesis of a legend and the inception of it all. Numerous fans are hypothesising that the character featured in the movie’s teaser bears a resemblance to Lord Shiva, particularly as Rishab is depicted holding a ‘Trishul’—a symbol most commonly associated with the deity Shiva and prominently featured in his iconography.
The release date has not been announced yet
However, the movie is set to commence filming with the Muhurat Pooja scheduled for November 27. A grand and elaborate set is under construction for the film, where actor-director Rishab, producer Vijay Kiragandur, and the rest of the cast and crew will be in attendance. Subsequent to the Muhurat Pooja, principal photography for the film will commence in December, with further announcements regarding the remaining cast to follow in due course.
In the interim, Hombale Films is gearing up to enthral audiences with the highly anticipated Salaar: Part 1 Ceasefire, a thrilling collaboration between powerhouse talents Prashanth Neel and Prabhas. The film is slated for a global release on December 22, 2023.
