‘Kal fir dhulai hogi Pakistan ki’ – Fans react as India vs Pakistan Asia Cup 2023 Super 4 clash gets called off, will resume on reserve day

India’s Asia Cup opener against Pakistan was called off due to rain and once again India’s Super 4 clash was again called off due to rain but the organisers have already added a reserve day for this India-Pakistan clash and it will resume again on Monday, September 10. The weather has been a subject of intense debate through the Sri Lanka leg of the Asia Cup. Rain is expected in the Sri Lankan capital throughout the tournament.

The contest was being played at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo and it will be continued on the same ground on Monday as well. India have already scored 147 runs after playing 24.1 overs. The game will be continued from there and the Pakistani bowler will try to get rid of the Indian batters as soon as possible.

Talking about the match, Pakistan won the toss and opted to bowl first but little did they know that their decision would backfire them brutally as Indian openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill provided a destructive start to the team and stitched a brilliant 121-run stand for the 1st wicket.

Both smashed their half-centuries and thrashed Pakistan’s pacers all over the ground. Both the batters were dealing with boundaries only, Gill played a knock of 58 runs off 52 balls which included 10 fours while Rohit scored 56 runs off just 49 balls and smashed 6 fours and 4 sixes.

Shadab Khan provided the much-needed breakthrough as he dismissed Rohit in the 17th over. Gill also went back to the pavilion in the 18th over, courtesy of Shaheen. Virat Kohli and KL Rahul joined hands and took the innings ahead, however, they were interrupted by the rain with India scoring 147 for 2 wickets in 24.1 overs.
