In the fourth T20I of the five-match series, India and Australia locked horns at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Stadium, Raipur. Ahead of the game, the home team was leading the series 2-1. On the other hand, the Aussies kept the series alive with a last-ball win in the third game. Meanwhile, in this game, once again the visitors won the toss and elected to bowl first.
With the bat, the Asian side had a great start with 50 runs in six overs. However, the team went from 50/0 to 63/3. At this stage, the likes of Ruturaj Gaikwad and Rinku Singh put together 48 runs for the fourth wicket. The former managed only 32, having scored an unbeaten hundred in the last game. After this, the likes of Jitesh Sharma (35) and Rinku Singh (46) put together 56 runs for the fifth wicket.
In the end, the team ended up getting 174/9 with debutant Ben Dwarshius taking three wickets for 40 runs while Jason Behrendorff took two. On the other hand, leg-spinner Jason Sangha took two while Aaron Hardie took one.
India sealed the five-match series with one game
In reply, the 2021 T20 World Cup winners had a great start with 40 runs on the board in just three overs. Ravi Bishnoi once again provided the breakthrough as he cleaned up debutant Josh Phillipe. On the other hand, Travis Head (31) got a great start as he was removed by Axar Patel. After this, the team kept losing wickets at regular intervals.
Patel took three wickets while Deepak Chahar took two. On the other hand, Bishnoi and Avesh Khan took one wicket each. In the end, the team ended up getting 154/7, losing the game by 20 runs. With this win, India had taken an unassailable lead of 3-1 with one match left that will be played on December 3 in Bengaluru.
