Ahead of the India-Pakistan clash in the ongoing Asia Cup 2023, Sanju Samson is reported to warm the bench. He last played an ODI game against West Indies and scored a quick fifty on a dry surface. Samson has been included in the Asia Cup 2023 squad as a traveling reserve with the likes of KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer making a comeback.

However, Rahul has been ruled out of the first round of the Asia Cup 2023. He was likely to keep wickets with Ishan Kishan wasn’t supposed to get opportunities. With Rahul not to play against Pakistan, Kishan is set to get an opportunity to take the gloves. As reported by The Indian Express, head coach Rahul Dravid hosted the players for a dinner.

The top order will consist of Shubman Gill, Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli. Kishan was also present at the dinner. After the dinner, he was one of those who was cracking jokes and slapping teammates’ backs. He might get to play the game and keep wickets. Talking further about the playing XI, there is not much clarity as of now.
