Jude Bellingham to move to Spain?

Premier League powerhouses Liverpool and Chelsea have been the frontrunners in the race to sign Borussia Dortmund youngster, but that’s about to change as Real Madrid have thrown their hat into the ring.

After locking down Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni, Real Madrid have identified Bellingham as the final piece of their midfield rebuild.

Over the past few seasons, Jude Bellingham has shown that he can play a variety of midfield roles with great efficiency.

All teams want their central midfielders to dictate the game’s tempo and create playing situations for the players around him. That’s exactly what Bellingham has been doing for Borussia Dortmund. The Englishman has established himself as BVB’s ultimate midfield engine.

Bellingham’s qualities as an elite midfield operator did not go unnoticed as the best teams in Europe came knocking on Dortmund’s door for him.

The Bundesliga outfit have managed to fend off suitors till now, but it seems increasingly likely that Bellingham will be leaving the club next summer.

Looking beyond England

Will he go back to England?

While you can’t write off that proposition just yet, Real Madrid’s interest will make it less likely.

Most English players tend to stay in England, but from an early age, Bellingham showed the ambition to leave his country and build his profile away from his comfort zone. The move to Borussia Dortmund has been instrumental in his evolution as a top-class midfielder.

Liverpool and Chelsea have been the clubs that were thought to be in advantageous positions to sign the midfield ace.

Borussia Dortmund will reportedly not let listen to any offers for Bellingham below €100 million. Both clubs have the financial muscle to afford that price tag.

But none of them can match the allure of playing for the most successful club in European history.

With Luka Modric set to leave Real Madrid next year and Toni Kroos approaching his mid-thirties, Real Madrid are planning their next-gen midfield.

Alongside Camavinga and Tchouameni, Bellingham can thrive in the Real Madrid central midfield.

Bellingham is only 19 years old at the moment.

So, he can reach an even higher ceiling in the 4/5 years.

The longevity of the Kroos-Modric-Casemiro trio has been one of the core elements responsible for Real Madrid’s success.

If they are to recreate that magic, Real Madrid must plan for the long haul. Tchouameni is 22 and Camavinga is 19. Jude Bellingham fits the perfect age profile for the new-look Real Madrid midfield.

Financially, there are many clubs in Europe that can make more lucrative offers than Real Madrid.

But the La Liga giants have an unique advantage of heritage and culture that makes them an irresistible package for almost every player in the world.

While Liverpool and Chelsea are still firmly in the equation, Real Madrid will likely have the last laugh if they retain their interest long enough.

So, we will not be surprised to see Jude Bellingham donning the classic white shirt of Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu next season.
