Jamaica Tallawahs down St Lucia Kings by 33 runs in the Eliminator of CPL 2022

The Jamaica Tallawahs will head to Qualifier 2 of the Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL) following a dominating win against Saint Lucia Kings in the Eliminator

Mohammad Nabi put on a splendid all-round show (31* off 15 balls and 3 for 10) to help Jamaica Tallawahs down St Lucia Kings by 33 runs in the Eliminator of CPL 2022. Tallawahs will now take on Guyana Amazon Warriors in Qualifier 2 on September 28.

The Saint Lucia Kings won the toss and opted to field first, and they took full advantage of that decision with a disciplined bowling display.

Mohammad Nabi’s all-round show power Tallawahs to Qualifier 2

Nabi’s heroics with both bat and ball helped Jamaica Tallawahs to a comprehensive win against St Lucia Kings.

Mohammad Nabi put on a splendid all-round show (31* off 15 balls and 3 for 10). He hit four sixes including three in the last over from Kesrick Williams to help Jamaica post a fighting total and build momentum.

Shamarh Brooks’s innings of 31-ball 47. Raymon Reifer (25 runs), the all-rounder, also made a useful contribution.

Tallawahs bowling unit derails St Lucia Kings chase

In reply, the Kings got off to a good start reaching 54/2 at the end of the PowerPlay but when Du Plessis was dismissed for 41 in the eighth over the Kings found themselves in trouble after which they couldn’t recover. Going into Qualifier 2, the Jamaica Tallawahs’ bowling attack will be their best asset.

Brief scores: Barbados Royals 195/5 in 20 overs (Rahkeem Cornwall 91, Azam Khan 52, Kyle Mayers 26, Romario Shepherd 2/29) beat Guyana Amazon Warriors 108 in 17.4 overs (Shimron Hetmeyer 37, Ramon Simmonds 3/17, Rahkeem Cornwall 2/10, Mujeeb ur Rahman 2/21) by 87 runs.
