In their last encounter against each other, the Royals defeated Tallawahs by eight wickets. Jamaica Tallawahs avenged their defeat in a nail-biting thriller.

The Tallawahs won the toss and chose to field first. Imad Wasim got them off to a superb start taking three wickets in the powerplay to leave the Royals struggling at 17/3 after six overs.

South African batting stars Quinton De Kock and David Miller built an 83-run partnership that took Royal’s score to 146/6 at the end of their innings.

Jamaica Tallawahs started the chase on a blistering note as both the openers Brandon King and Amir Jangoo got their team off to a flying start, scoring 50 runs in 5 overs to put the Tallawahs in a commanding position.

Jason Holder took three wickets as the Royals fought back, but it was not enough as the Tallawahs reached 126/5 and won by five wickets (DLS method), six runs ahead of the par score.

The Jamaica Tallwahs were on course for a comfortable win but Jason Holer and Obed Mckoy took 5 wickets combined up a tense finish.

In the end, a six from Rovman Powell just before the rain fell would prove critical, as it meant the Tallwahs finished ahead by six runs on DLS and picked up the five-wicket win.

After the 10th-over mark, there was a rain interruption, but it wasn’t that long a delay as play resumed within 30 minutes with no reduction in overs.

Just when the match was poised on such an interesting note, there was yet another ran interruption. This came right after the 17th over, which earned the Tallawahs 10 runs to take them to 126/5.
