In one of the most one-sided contests of the Caribbean Premier League, Jamaica Tallawahs completely overwhelmed Saint Lucia Kings by 120 runs.

Jamaica’s top order shines

A match can only be one-sided if every player on the pitch chips in with a contribution.

This was exactly the case with Jamaica’s batting lineup.

Every batsman within the team played a role to get the Tallawahs to a mammoth 255-5 in 20 overs.

In the first six overs, Tallawahs had already made 81 runs with a loss of 1 wicket.

Walton and Kennar Lewis scored 47 and 48 respectively to create a good base for the top order to achieve a huge total.

Later, Pakistan’s Haider Ali scored 45 to ensure that Tallawahs cross the 150-mark.

Next, it was time for the Andre Russell show. The West Indies star hit an astonishing fifty off just 14 balls to guide his team to a match-winning total.

Obed McCoy was the pick of the bowlers for the Kings as he took three wickets.

Otherwise, it was a chaotic bowling display from Saint Lucia as they leaked runs continuously.

Pretorius, Imran overwhelm Saint Lucia’s batting

After their phenomenal batting display, Jamaica didn’t disappoint in the bowling department either.

By the end of the sixth over, they had sent half of the Kings’ side back to the pavilion.

Migael Pretorius and Imran Khan were the stars of the show as they grabbed four and three wickets respectively.

Tim David was the only shining light of a dark day for Saint Lucia Kings in both the bowling and the batting department.

The Singaporean scored 56 runs from 28 balls to give his team’s scorecard a more respectable look.

Jamaica Tallawahs 255 for 5 (Russell 50*, Lewis 48, Walton 47) beat St Lucia Kings 135 (David 56, Pretorius 4-32, Imran 3-7) by 120 runs.
