Jairam Ramesh Criticizes PM Modi’s ‘Human’ Statement, Refers to ‘Non-Biological’ Remark
Ramesh Responds to Modi’s Podcast Remarks
Congress leader Jairam Ramesh criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent podcast statements, particularly his claim of being human and capable of making mistakes. Ramesh took to X, calling Modi’s remark a form of damage control after the PM previously proclaimed himself “non-biological.”
PM Modi’s Podcast Claims
In his podcast with Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath, PM Modi acknowledged his humanity, stating that while he might make mistakes, he would never act with bad intentions. He emphasized that mistakes are inevitable, and he has made them throughout his life, but his actions are always guided by positive intent.
Ramesh’s Criticism on X
Ramesh responded to Modi’s podcast by recalling the Prime Minister’s earlier comments on his “non-biological” status. Referring to Modi’s 2024 interview, where he discussed the profound energy he believes God gave him after his mother’s death, Ramesh pointed out the contradiction in Modi’s statements.
Modi’s ‘Non-Biological’ Reflection
In a 2024 interview, Modi had stated that after his mother’s death, he no longer saw himself as simply a biological being. He believed that God had given him a special energy, guiding his actions and work. His “non-biological” reflection had sparked controversy, and Ramesh’s latest comments seem to highlight this inconsistency.
Modi on Idealism Over Ideology
In the podcast, Modi also discussed the importance of idealism over ideology. He acknowledged that while ideology is vital in politics, idealism holds greater significance. Drawing on figures like Mahatma Gandhi and VR Savarkar, Modi said that despite their different paths, their shared ideology was “freedom.”
