‘Jailer’ review: Rajinikanth back in action after 2 years, solid camera-work and epic climax scenes
Indian superstar Rajinikanth’s much-awaited action-thriller Jailer starring Tamannaah Bhatia and Bollywood veteran actor Jackie Shroff finally hit the theatres on Thursday, August 10. As the movie features ‘Thalaiva’, it was quite obvious that the buzz around the movie will be high as it registered a record advance booking for the year 2023.
The film is directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and also features veteran actors like Mohanlal and Shiva Rajkumar. It is also Rajinikanth’s first movie after a gap of 2 years and the fans could not keep calm for it as almost all theatres in the country were housefull. Fans have shared their reviews about the movie on social media.
Talking about the movie’s storyline, the initial phase of the movie contains a kind of dark comedy from the ‘Thalaiva’. The comedy works in some parts but there were also some moments where it falls flat. However, there are multiple whistle-worthy moments in the movie when stars like Jackie, Mohanlal and Shiva make their cameos.
Many fans believe that the movie resembles Kamal Hasan’s 2022 blockbuster Vikram as Rajinikanth attempts to go beyond anything to protect his family just like Hasan did in Vikram. The music for the movie is produced by the star music producer Anirudh. The work he has done in the BGM and some songs is totally commendable.
How will Jailer do in the upcoming days?
However, we will not like to give a spoiler to you as the movie contains a solid climax so it’d be better for you to watch the movie yourself. Meanwhile, it’d be interesting to see how the movie will do in the upcoming days as on Friday, August 11, there are 2 big projects lined up to be released.
Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2 and Sunny Deol Gadar 2 are set to be released on Friday and it is expected that it will affect the business of Jailer at the box office. However, after the kind of reviews being given by the fans, it seems that the movie will hopefully do well in the upcoming days as well.
