‘It really depends on timing’ – Ayushmann Khurrana breaks his silence on ‘An Action Hero’ failure in Box-office

Bollywood’s one of the most talented actors Ayushmann Khurrana is currently having an off-time from the big screen. He last appeared in a movie last year and since then he hasn’t released any movie or series. However, he is preparing for his much-awaited sequel of ‘Dream Girl’ which is expected to release in August later this year.

Meanwhile, Ayushmann recently talked about his last movie ‘An Action Hero’ which didn’t do well at the box office. He opened up on the failure of the movie and said that the movie got released at a bad time. However, the actor said that he will continue to do such roles in future as he is confident that these types of movies will work in future.

“It really depends on timing. This is the best time, the theatricals are also back and I am glad mid-budget films are working. It is a great silver lining. I think it was a bad time then. An Action Hero got a lot of love later. I will keep on making these choices. I am sure theatricals will happen and we will do well.” Ayushmann was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.

“It’s just pure thrill, entertainment. We have reels and everything on the (Insta)gram, on phones. So, the competition for theatrical release is not just from OTT, it’s from social media too,” he added.

Ayushmann’s bad run at Box-office

After the epidemic, the actor has seen back-to-back box office failures with his flicks Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui (2021), Anek (2022), Doctor G (2022), and An Action Hero (2022). The actor has a number of intriguing projects planned for 2023 and 2024; it will be interesting to see which of these films finally breaks the actor’s box office dry spell.

Talking about his much-awaited ‘Dream Girl 2’, after the blockbuster Dream Girl (2019), With renowned actors like Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, and others, the cast becomes more fascinating for the crew. However, Ananya Panday has taken Nusratt Bharuchha’s place this time as the lead actress.
