Former India batter Sanjay Manjrekar has heaped praise on Royal Challengers Bangalore, saying they have the best bowling attack ahead of the 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League.

RCB will face Mumbai Indians in their opening match of the tournament at the Chinnaswamy Stadium on April 2.

Manjrekar said RCB has good depth in their bowling attack, going as far as calling their bowling unit perfect.

RCB roped in England pacer Reece Topley for Rs 1.90 crore to bolster their already strong bowling attack.

“Their pace bowling has depth. Even if Hazlewood is not fit, then they have Topley. In spin, they have Wanindu Hasaranga.”

“They have Mohammed Siraj and Harshal Patel. Their bowling is perfect and even Maxwell can bowl.” said Manjrekar.

He went on to say that RCB has the best bowling attack in the upcoming season of the IPL, insisting that this is their combined X-factor.

“In this IPL, according to me, the best bowling attack belongs to RCB and that is their combined X-factor,” Manjrekar added.

RCB will be looking to win their first-ever IPL trophy after falling at the final hurdle in 2009 and most recently in 2016.

They were dealt an injury blow with England all-rounder Will Jacks picking up an injury during their three-match ODI series against Bangladesh.

He has been replaced by New Zealand all-rounder Michael Bracewell, who joined the Bangalore-based outfit for his base price of Rs 1 crore.

Back in January, Bracewell grabbed eyeballs after he scored a magnificent hundred against India at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad in an ODI.

RCB will be lead by former South Africa skipper Faf du Plessis after taking over the reins from Virat Kohli last year, and guiding the side to a respectable third-place finish.

They will open their campaign with a home game against Mumbai Indians, before facing Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens on April 6.
