Sunrisers Hyderabad got their second win of the Indian Premier League 2021 on Monday night as they beat Rajasthan Royals by seven wickets.

It was a rare sight to the Hyderabad men delivering the goods with the bat.

In pursuit of a 165-run target, Hyderabad finished 167/3 with nine deliveries in hand.

Roy replaces Warner for good

With David Warner dropped for the second time in the season, Jason Roy made sure he cements his spot as an opener.

The Englishman scored 60, utilized the powerplay and gave Hyderabad a flying start. Williamson did what Williamson does best.

He kept rotating the strike to make sure SRH don’t collapse in the run chase like they have done all season.

The absence of Jonny Bairstow had left a void in the top-order of the Sunrisers, but Roy seems to have filled that well.

The right-handed opener could not save SRH from an early exit this campaign, but he may have replaced Warner permanently as an opener.

The Australian had been struggling as a captain and batsman both. His form slump has been quite evident ever since the start of the season.

Samson lets his bat talk

Despite cruising to victory, SRH maintain the bottom position in the position, where Sanju Samson and co are at the sixth spot with eight points in hand.

Samson was again the lone warrior for the Royals, striking 82 runs in a jiffy.

Lack of support from the other end once again saw the Royals finishing behind the par score.

His top form is getting wasted with a struggling batting unit that fails to turn up when the situation needs it the most.

Sunrisers Hyderabad 167 for 3 (Roy 60, Williamson 51*) beat Rajasthan Royals 164 for 5 (Samson 82, Kaul 2-36) by seven wickets.

South African speed gun, Anrich Nortje, has claimed four scalps to his name in two games.

In the UAE leg, he has dethroned his national teammate KG Rabada as Delhi’s pace spearhead.

His opening spells are what the KKR will need to have a serious look at.

Match prediction

Delhi have lost only twice this season, once to Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals.

They’ve been excellent in both games of the UAE leg, putting up inch-perfect combinations with the bat and ball.

They are equal on points with table-topper Chennai Super Kings and flaunt the second-best net run rate (+0.711).

Rishabh Pant is in fine form, Shreyas Iyer is scoring runs and their pace cartel is on fire as well.

There’s nothing that seems wrong with the DC huddle. However, KKR have some issues they need to sort out.

They’ve lacked firepower at the back, especially with Eoin Morgan finding it hard to be among runs.

Hence, the Capitals should win the Tuesday clash with ease.
