IPL 2024 Auction: List of players with base price of INR 2 crore
The Indian Premier League (IPL) is set to witness its first-ever auction outside India, with Dubai playing host to the spectacle on December 19 for the 17th edition of the richest cricket league in the world. The anticipation is palpable as 25 players have boldly set their base price at a hefty INR 2 crores, promising an intense bidding war among franchises.
Several international stars have thrown their hats into the ring, including the likes of Harshal Patel, Shardul Thakur, and Umesh Yadav, who have all established themselves as potent forces in the world of cricket. Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc, who showcased their brilliance in the ODI World Cup 2023 final against India, are expected to command significant amounts in the upcoming auction. Travis Head, who smashed a memorable century in the same final, has also set his base price at INR 2 crores, adding to the excitement.
However, the inclusion of 38-year-old Indian batter Kedar Jadhav has raised eyebrows. After being released by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Jadhav’s chances of finding a new team appear slim, given his age and recent form. This unexpected presence in the pool has left fans speculating about the potential twists and turns during the auction.
Rachin Ravindra hasn’t set his base price at INR 2 crore
Surprisingly absent from the INR 2 crore base price list is New Zealand’s emerging all-rounder Rachin Ravindra. The young sensation made a significant impact in the recently concluded ODI World Cup 2023, contributing both with the bat and ball to his team’s success. Interestingly, the left-handed batter has set his base at INR 50 lakhs and most probably he will easily get the bids.
