Mumbai Indians will lock horns against Rajasthan Royals in TATA IPL on Sunday, 30 April 2023 at 07:30 PM at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

This will be 1000th game ever in the history of the IPL.

After two defeats in the beginning, Mumbai Indians had managed to win three games on the trot.

However, they seem to have stumbled yet again and lost their last two matches. Currently MI is 8th in the table with 6 points.

Rajasthan Royals are on the winning track again after losing two consecutive matches. They now have five wins and three losses and have a good chance of qualifying for the playoffs.

They are currently 2nd in the table with 10 points. They come to the game after defeating Chennai Super Kings by 32 runs.

For MI, Cameron Green’s elevation to the top of the batting order has paid dividends.

Green has batted at number three in his previous two matches, scoring a half-century in each. With the ball, he has five wickets at an average of 34.

However, In his most recent game against GT, he only managed 33 runs off 26 balls.

Piyush Chawla, the 34-year-old spinner has also been a revelation for MI. He needs two more wickets to reach 170 in the IPL.

In his first seven games, Chawla has already claimed eleven wickets for a total of an average of 17.55, an economy of 6.86, and a strike rate of 15.3.

For RR, Yashasvi Jaiswal has finally realised his immense potential with 304 runs in eight games.

Jaiswal averages 32.43 and routinely produces scores of 30 or above.

He hit a stunning 77 runs in the most recent game against CSK, earning him the title of player of the match.

For MI, Jofra Archer was unwell and missed the last game against Gujarat Titans. If he regains full fitness, he will replace Riley Meredith.

Trent Boult missed the last game against Chennai Super Kings due to a niggle.

Adam Zampa had come in for him. But if Boult is fit, he might replace Zampa as spinners don’t get much help at the Wankhede Stadium.

Also, the MI top order has been vulnerable against left-arm pacers and Boult’s inclusion will boost RR’s chances.

Who will win

In the absence of Bumrah, Mumbai Indians have struggled in the bowling department.

Wankhede is a batting paradise and against a strong RR batting unit, they are bound to go for a lot of runs.

Rajasthan Royals’ batsmen Yashasvi Jaiswal, Jos Buttler, and Sanju Sampson have scored nearly 800 runs amongst them.

The MI bowlers have conceded more than 200 runs in the last two games and lack confidence.

Hence, Rajasthan Royals are firm favourites to win this match.
