Indian Board requests fans to comply with Virat Kohli’s privacy after pulling out of first two Tests vs England
Team India was handed a massive loss just a few days before the England Test series. Former India skipper Virat Kohli is set to miss out on the first two Tests of the series. This news came to light on Monday and the Indian board has requested privacy towards the Kohli family.
India’s selectors are set to name the replacement for Virat Kohli pretty soon. Rajat Patidar and Sarfaraz Khan are the two players who are rumoured to be in the running for a place. With Virat Kohli now out of the series it will be interesting to see who bats at number four.
With just three days to go for the first Test match, Team India is in a huge predicament. Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid are now in a new dilemma even before the first ball could be bowled.
Indian Board comes up with a huge appeal –
India’s team was facing a massive crisis after Virat Kohli pulled out of the first two Tests vs England. After the news was made public the Indian Cricket Board came up with a fervent appeal.
The Indian Cricket Board in a statement said “The board expects his decision and the Board and team management has extended its support to the star batter and is confident in the abilities of the remaining squad members to step up and deliver commendable performances in the Test series”
In the statement, the Indian board further said “The board also requests the media and fans to respect Virat Kohli’s privacy during this time and refrain from speculating on the nature of his personal reasons. The focus should remain on supporting the Indian cricket team as they embark on the upcoming challenges in the Test series”
As per sources, Virat Kohli did not take part in the practice session on Monday. It was also said that the former Indian skipper will be in Ayodhya for the Ram Temple Inauguration. Fans were shocked and surprised to see neither Virat Kohli nor Anushka Sharma present.
Virat Kohli has also spoken to Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid before making this decision. As per reports, the 35-year-old has re-affirmed his commitment to the Indian team. One has to wait and watch as the board is set to name a replacement soon.
