2014 FIFA World Cup winner Thomas Muller has extended his support for the India Cricket Team semifinal of the ODI World Cup 2023. The Men In Blue will play against New Zealand in the first semifinal of the ongoing tournament on November 15 in Mumbai. The last time both teams played a semifinal, the Blackcaps won and reached the final in 2019.

Meanwhile, ahead of the first semi, the former German footballer has been given an India Kit. In a video shared by the veteran player, he extended his wishes for the Asian side’s win.

“Look at this @imVkohli! Thank you for the shirt, #TeamIndia! Good luck at the @cricketworldcup,” Muller wrote along with the video

“Thank you Team India for the shirt, and good luck at the World Cup,” Muller said in the video.

Notably, the time ahead of the upcoming semifinal of the ongoing ODI World Cup is somewhat a Deja Vu. Four years back, the two-time winners were on top of the table although their league game against the same side was washed out. Apart from this, they lost to eventual champions, England in the round-robin stage.

This time around, the home team, India is yet to lose a game and has won nine games on the trot for the first time in the tournament’s history. However, the team would want to repeat what they did to New Zealand on October 22, 2023.

Meanwhile, talking about the former German international played his last international game for the team during the FIFA World Cup 2022. After tasting success in 2014, the team did poorly in 2018 and 2022, crashing out in the first round only. In both editions, they were beaten by minnows Japan.
