Henry Cavill talks about his involvement in Warhammer 40k franchise
Henry Cavill, for most people, is one of the biggest stars in Hollywood. However, gamers also see him as one of their own. It is no secret that the former Superman/Witcher is a huge fanboy for video games.
In a recent interview with Josh Horowitz, Cavill talked about being a part of the upcoming Warhammer 40k show. The actor is a huge fan of the Warhammer franchise and can basically talk about it all day. Cavill also reportedly spent his early COVID-19 pandemic days making mini Warhammer figurines.
“It is the greatest privilege of my professional career to have this opportunity. I can’t say too much, but to have this opportunity to bring it to the screen and be at the tiller so it can be faithful, is key to me,” Cavill said responding to the question.
A certified gamer
Back in 2020, Cavill posted a video of building his own PC. He has also reminded everyone time and time again of his gaming hobbies. He was also excited to be a part of the Witcher show, however he left the series after Season 3.
This was due to the producers and the actors having a different vision for the series. Cavill wanted to stay faithful to the source material, but the show had other plans. Now, he is involved with the Warhammer Cinematic Universe.
In his announcement video from December 2022, Cavill revealed that they are working with Amazon and Natalie Viscuso. The series is currently in the making and the actor has promised people something unique.
To all of you Warhammer fans out there, I promise to respect this IP that we love. I promise to bring you something familiar. And I endeavour to bring you something fantastic that is, as of yet, unseen,” he said.
