Guyana Amazon Warriors thumped Barbados Royals by a whopping nine wickets in the 16th game of the Caribbean Premier League 2021 to take home another win.

Hemraj stuns Royals

Nicholas Pooran’s men first restricted the Royals to a low total of 130/10.

It took the Warriors only 14.2 overs to complete the run chase, courtesy a brilliant century by Guyana’s Chandrapaul Hemraj.

The 28-year-old crunched the ball all around the park to turn the run chase into a piece of cake.

After Brandon King departed for a 17-ball 19, Hemraj continued to accelerate his innings.

His 105 is among one of the best centuries in the CPL.

Hemraj was on 99* when he sent the ball into the stands for six off Nyeem Young’s second ball of his last over, achieving double delight of registering a ton and taking his team over the line.

Not to forget Pakistan’s batting veteran Shoaib Malik who kept on playing dot balls to make sure that his partner on the other end reaches the milestone.

Tahir gets three scalps

Imran Tahir picked three wickets for 34 to register his best bowling figures in this year’s CPL campaign.

The experienced spinner dismissed Royals opener Johnson Charles, in-form Smit Patel and Glenn Philips.

The South African superstar has notched nine wickets for the Warriors in the six matches he has played so far.

His contribution in every game has been hard to ignore.

The likes of Tahir and Romario Shepherd are proving to be an elite duo for the Pooran’s unit.

Azam Khan shows signs of brilliance

Azam Khan has been making waves in the Pakistan Super League for a while, but the CPL fans are yet to see him in red-hot form yet.

The youngster showed his strength for his 28-run knock, but couldn’t get going for long.

The Pakistan batsman needs to pick up his form to make an impact that Barbados Royals have been lacking this season.

Guyana Amazon Warriors 136 for 1 (Hemraj 105*) beat Barbados Royals 130 all out (Khan 28, Tahir 3-34) by nine wickets.

Kings end Patriots’ win streak

St Lucia Kings seem to be the nemesis for Dwayne Bravo’s St Kitts and Nevis Patriots.

The Kings have won their second game in a row, against the Patriots.

Patriots collapse in no time

A rare batting collapsed from the Royals gave control to the Kings early on.

St Lucia Kings then reached the 119-run target in 15.4 overs to make it 2-0 against the table toppers.

Faf du Plessis, who scored a brilliant ton in the last game, led his team from the front in this clash.

His tactics were spot on with the ball that helped the Kings’ pace cartel bundle out Bravo’s unit for only 118.

With a below-par total, the Pats were never in the game.

Fabian Allen was the sole warrior for the losing side for his patient knock of 34 before Kesrick Williams dismissed him.

Chase shines with the bat, again

Roston Chase is the man with the gold bat at the moment for du Plessis.

The West Indies’ all-rounder bagged another Man of the Match award for his team.

His 51* made the chase easier for the Kings.

Du Plessis’s side are now just two points behind the Pats on the table.

St Lucia Kings 121 for 4 (Chase 51*, Allen 2-30) beat St Kitts & Nevis Patriots 118 (Allen 34, Thomas 28, Royal 3-20, Samit 2-15, Williams 2-32) by six wickets.
