Former India skipper MS Dhoni spoke to the fans at an event recently. During the event, he was asked whether he would choose Blue (Indian jersey) or Yellow (Chennai Super Kings). Dhoni said “I will 100% pick blue because I know people who love yellow will never question the blue”. Talking about his international career, he started playing for the team in 2004 and played his last in 2019.

Talking about the wicketkeeper batter’s captaincy, he led the team from 2007 to 2014 (Tests) and ODIs and T20Is till 2016. During this period, the team became number one across formats. Also, they won the T20 World Cup 2007, the ODI World Cup 2011, and the Champions Trophy 2013. In August 2020, the Ranchi player retired from international cricket and has been playing only in the IPL since.

During the last three years, the team failed to qualify for the playoffs twice and won the title as many times.

MS Dhoni might play in IPL 2024

After the IPL 2023 win for Chennai Super Kings against Gujarat Titans, Dhoni was asked whether he would retire from IPL cricket. In reply, he said that it could have been very easy for him to retire but the love of the fans is making him think again.

“Looking for an answer? (He asks Harsha Bhogle after the latter asks him about his legacy) This is the best time to announce my retirement. But the amount of love I have received all over. The easy thing would be to walk away from here, but the harder thing would be working hard for 9 months and try to play another IPL. It would be a gift from me, won’t be easy on the body. You do get emotional, the first game at CSK everyone was chanting my name. My eyes were full of water, I needed to take some time off in the dugout. I realised I need to enjoy this,” MS Dhoni said.
