Chasing 334, England was bowled out for a paltry total of 245. Harmanpreet Kaur slammed an unbeaten 143 off just 111 balls as India posted a massive 333 for five against England

India posted their second all-time highest total of 333 runs after being put into batting first. Things were going well for England but the last 10 overs turned the tide in India’s favor as Harmanpreet produced incredible innings to power India.

England got an early breakthrough as Kate Cross cleaned up Shafali Verma cheaply for eight. But Smriti Mandhana and Yastika Bhatia were quick in recovery. But England maintained the upper hand with the quick dismissals of Bhatia (26) and Mandhana (40).

Harmanpreet found support in Harleen Deol, who scored 58 off 72. The two put on 113 runs for the fourth wicket. Pooja Vastrakar and Deepti Sharma then played good cameos as the skipper carried her onslaught.

Kaur gives her opinions about the match and her own innings

“Today was a crucial game for us, and everyone who got a chance contributed. I always enjoy leading, I’m always in the game and all the support from the staff and the players.

“I took my time and that partnership was important. After that, I gave freedom to myself and backed myself. Whoever got the chance today gave us breakthroughs.”
