India have left the cricketing fans bamboozled with their recent moves.

One such decision was the extreme loyalty shown to KL Rahul despite a poor run of scores for a long time.

However, Rahul had to pay the price for his ordinary performances.

A mere score of 38 runs in two Tests and a highest score of 23 in his last 10 Test innings was not enough to keep him in the reckoning.

KL was been given the boot from the vice-captaincy role.

Former cricketers like Venkatesh Prasad have been vocal about Rahul’s lack of form and how he is getting too many chances.

As things stand, Rahul’s position in the team is now uncertain, and the team management is considering its options.

Let’s not forget, India is leading the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2-0, but they need to keep winning to book their spot in the World Test Championship final.

So, who will take up the mantle of the vice-captaincy?

The question is on everyone’s mind.

And, former India legend Harbhajan Singh has an answer for us.

He believes that the most deserving candidate for the vice-captaincy role is none other than Ravindra Jadeja.

According to Harbhajan, “India don’t have a vice-captain. Who can be your next vice-captain? I believe that a player who is captain or vice-captain should be a definite starter in the XI, regardless of whether you play in India or abroad.”

“I think that kind of player is Ravindra Jadeja. I think the vice-captaincy now should be given to Jadeja because it will give him more responsibility.”

“He has been playing really well. As a senior player, he has played for a long time. He is at the peak of his abilities in his batting and bowling.”

“I don’t think there is any all-rounder in the world who is better than Ravindra Jadeja. Ben Stokes is in that league, he is also a big-match player.”

“I think if you look at his performance, his batting has clicked. It seems as if he will score in every match.”

“He should get vice-captaincy in Tests. He can get it in ODIs. This is my thought,” Harbhajan said.

And, you know what, Bhajji has a point.

Jadeja is in the form of his life. He has just come back from a knee injury and has already made a strong impact.

In the first two Tests, he has picked up 17 wickets, including a five-wicket haul.

He has also chipped in with crucial knocks lower down the order, scoring 96 runs in two matches.

We agree that it’s time to reward current form rather than past performances and go with Jaddu!
