Good news for Indian fans as Jasprit Bumrah returns for 5th Test match against England, uncertainty about KL Rahul
Jasprit Bumrah is set to make a return in the 5th Test match against England after opting out from the 4th match. Due to workload management, Bumrah was rested in the fourth match. Moreover, before the IPL and the World Cup start, he’ll play one last match in red-ball cricket. While players are missing out on International matches, Bumrah’s dedication and enthusiasm for his nation is an inspiration for the young generation.
Moreover, KL Rahul will officially be missing out on the 5th Test match as well due to a quadricep tendon injury. Although he’s 90% fit, the rest 10% is at stake and the selectors don’t want to take any risk with the player’s health considering the future tournaments. Rahul had played the first Test match in the 5-match series before being injured and missing the entire series.
In the first innings, he had scored 86 runs off 123 balls which helped India reach a score of 436 runs. It was an unfortunate turn of events as Rahul had to miss the entire series due to the injury. Nevertheless, the Indian fans will be happy after receiving the news of Bumrah’s return for the final Test match.
‘I think it was a great Test match’ – Ben Stokes after 4th Test match
Throughout the series, Ben Stokes has been praising his entire team for putting up a great show in the series. After concluding the fourth Test match, Stokes opened up about how proud he was of his team for not giving up any situation and giving a tough fight to the Indians in their backyard.
“I think it was a great Test match. If you see the scoreboard, it’ll say India won by 5 wickets, but it doesn’t give credit to the way things unfolded, the ebbs and flows on every single day it happened. I can only be proud of my team, we’ve had some inexperienced spinners (Bashir and Hartley), but I’m proud of their efforts, they came here without a lot of exposure and the way they kept bowling, I can’t ask for anything more.”
