Indian cricket stars Shikhar Dhawan and Cheteshwar Pujara recently showcased their off-field camaraderie on Instagram, leaving fans amused. Pujara shared a photo of himself practicing in his signature-focused stance and also shared a caption, which reads, “Back to the grind! Gearing up for #IraniTrophy.”

However, Dhawan, who never misses an opportunity for humour, started pulling Pujara’s legs with a hilarious comment under his post. Dhawan jokingly said that Pujara should stop playing now and make way for the youngsters “Bhai bas kar youngster ko bhi khelne de ab. Irani se Tere liye Naani Trophy ho gayi hai (Bro take it easy, give the youngsters some chance now).” Dhawan said.

This light-hearted jest sparked laughter among fans and highlighted the bond between the players beyond the cricket field. In a world where sports often emphasize seriousness, such playful interactions remind us that cricket is not just about competition but also about friendship and laughter. Dhawan and Pujara’s banter was a delightful treat for cricket enthusiasts. Interestingly, both cricketers are also running out of the Indian squad currently.

I have not spoken to any selector: Shikhar Dhawan

Dhawan recently opened up on not getting selected for the Asian Games and said that he was a bit shocked after the squad announcement. But he is also happy for Ruturaj Gaikwad and other youngsters who will be representing India in the Asian Games T20I tournament in Hangzhou, China.

“When my name was not there (for Asian Games), I was a bit shocked. But, then, I was like they have a different thought process, you just have to accept it. Happy that Rutu (Gaikwad) will lead the side. All the young boys are there, I am sure they will do well. I will be ready, of course. That is why I keep myself fit.” Dhawan was quoted as saying by Sportskeeda.

“There is always a chance whether it is one percent or 20 percent. I still enjoy training and I still enjoy the game, these are the things in my control. Whatever decision is made, I respect that. I have not spoken to any selector (about my future). I keep going to NCA. I enjoy my time there, the facilities are great. NCA has shaped my career and I am grateful for it. Also, I have to prepare for the IPL” he added.
