‘Finally sharam aa gayi’ – Fans react to viral images of Jasprit Bumrah bowling in the nets ahead of Ireland tour
India pacer Jasprit Bumrah is expected to return to the game for the Ireland tour. He has been away from the game since last September. Bumrah missed the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia and the team lost the semis against England by 10 wickets. Apart from this, he missed the New Zealand tour, and Bangladesh tour last year.
Also, the right-arm pacer missed the home series against New Zealand, Sri Lanka, and Australia. Not to forget, for the first time in his IPL career, the Gujarat player missed the 2023 edition. His team, Mumbai Indians struggled in the bowling department and barely managed to reach the playoffs. Apart from this, the five-time IPL winner was dearly missed by India during the World Test Championship final 2023 which the team lost heavily.
Meanwhile, early in January this year, Bumrah went through back surgery in New Zealand. As reported by ESPNcricinfo, he was expected to return to the game next month. As expected, Bumrah has started bowling full throttle in the nets, making a strong case of returning to the national side for the Ireland tour next month.
Talking about the series, it will be a three-match T20I series. On the other hand, just like last year, some of the players and the coaching staff, including Rahul Dravid will be rested. He will be replaced by VVS Laxman. Hardik Pandya is expected to lead the side after the limited-overs assignments in the West Indies. Currently, the Men In Blue are playing an all-format series in the Caribbean. The second and last Test will be played in Trinidad from July 20.
After the Tests, both teams will play three ODIs and five T20Is.
This is how Twitter reacted
