FIFA confirms 2022 World Cup will start a day earlier than originally planned on November 20
The 2022 Qatar World Cup will now get started a day earlier than originally scheduled with Qatar facing Ecuador in the opening match on November 20th, 2022
The opening ceremony of the game will move a day forward, FIFA officials confirmed the news yesterday.
The first match of the tournament will take place at Al Bayt Stadium where the host nation will face Ecuador followed by Senegal facing the Netherlands on November 21st, 2022
A FIFA statement released on Thursday included: “The decision followed an assessment of the competition and operational implications, as well as a thorough consultation process and an agreement with key stakeholders and the host country.
The countdown to the mega tournament has begun with 100 days remaining before kickoff.
FIFA president Gianni Infantino has assured that the country will host the “best ever” World Cup.
The Qatar world cup will be a tightly contested tournament with teams like England, Brazil, and Spain tipped to win the 2022 World Cup.
France has been ranked low in the list of favorites due to preparation doubts
