There have been controversies surrounding the second edition of SA20. The fact that SA allowed the key players to take part in the league by freeing them from playing in Tests against New Zealand has not gone well with the experts. Some of them have come hard against SA and blamed the SA20 league for the same. The criticism on the same continues to grow among the fans.

Steve Waugh took on SA for their act with harsh criticism. The former Australian captain felt it might be the first major step towards the end of Test cricket. Graeme Smith defended the move of the organizers recently. With that being said, the excitement for the league has not reduced. The fans are waiting eagerly for the start of the league. It is set to be telecasted in India as well.

The 2nd edition of SA20 will be played among 5 teams: Durban Super Giants, Johannesburg Super Kings, MI Cape Town, Paarl Royals, Pretoria Capitals, and Sunrisers Eastern Cape. In the first edition of the league, Pretoria Capitals had taken on Sunrisers Eastern Cape in the final only to lose it. This time around, the squads of all the sides seem to be good.

Match timings, Details, and Start date of SA20

The 2nd edition of the league will be starting from the 10th of January on Wednesday. Sunrisers Eastern Cape would be taking on Johannesburg Super Kings in the inaugural match of the season at Gqeberha. The final of the tournament is set to take place on the 10th of February. In India, the matches begin in three different time frames: 5:00 PM, 7:00 PM, and 9:00 PM IST.

The format of the tournament is the double round-robin. Teams ending the group stage in the top 4 positions qualify for the playoffs. The live telecast of the matches of SA20 2024 in India will happen on the Sports 18 channel. The live streaming of the same on small screens will be available for the fans at the Jio Cinema app and website. The tournament features several star players.
