‘Ego aagaya hai usme bohot’ – Fans react as Irfan Pathan takes indirect dig at Hardik Pandya after he denies Tilak Varma’s half-century in 3rd T20I against West Indies

Indian Cricket Team finally opened their winning account in the ongoing 5-match T20I series against West Indies after they defeated the Caribbean side in the 3rd match by 7 wickets at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on Tuesday, August 8. However, the Windies are still ahead with a 2-1 lead over the Men in Blue.

Meanwhile, former India fast bowler Irfan Pathan came up with a cryptic tweet on his Twitter handle on August 9. Many fans have speculated that Irfan has taken an indirect dig at the India skipper Hardik Pandya after he denied Tilak Varma’s much-deserved half-century by hitting a six on the last ball while Varma needed only 1 run to achieve the milestone. He wrote, “Mushkil kaam aap karo, Asaan kaam mein Kar leta hoo. Suna suna Sa lagta hai…(You do the difficult work, I will do the easy work. It seems like heard…).”

Brilliant batting display by the Indian team

Talking about the match, West Indies won the toss and opted to bat first. Kyle Mayers and Brandon King stitched a 55-run stand for the first wicket and provided a great start to the team. However, the middle-order batters could not contribute much to the scoreboard and shattered like a pack of cards. Thanks to Kuldeep Yadav, he displayed a magnificent bowling display and picked up 3 wickets in his 4 overs quota while conceding only 28 runs.

Skipper Rovman Powell batted really well in the end and helped the team to achieve a fighting total of 159 runs. He scored 40 runs off just 19 balls which included 1 four and 3 sixes. Chasing the target, India once again started horribly as they lost both their openers inside the powerplay.

However, Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma insured a convincing victory for the team as both stitched an 87-run stand for the 3rd wicket. Suryakumar departed after scoring 83 runs which included 10 fours and 4 sixes while Varma remained unbeaten on 49 runs and helped the team to win the match by 7 wickets.
