Dhanush joins forces with Rajkumar Periasamy for the director’s next film, a project that has already created immense buzz. The announcement, shared by Dhanush on his X (formerly Twitter) handle, included pictures from the movie’s puja ceremony. Dhanush expressed his enthusiasm for working with the acclaimed director on this exciting venture.

Director Rajkumar Periasamy, in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, revealed unique details about the project. He explained how this film, tentatively titled D55, differs from his previous movie, Amaran. “My next is with Dhanush sir. While Amaran was about a single hero—a gallantry award recipient—this film will spotlight many unsung heroes. The protagonist will represent these individuals who blend seamlessly into society,” the director said.

Rajkumar Periasamy’s previous film, Amaran, featuring Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi, was a massive success in Tamil cinema. The film explored the life of Major Mukund Varadarajan, a martyred Indian Army officer, delving into his professional and personal sacrifices. The movie garnered widespread critical acclaim and became one of the year’s biggest hits.

Beyond Tamil cinema, Rajkumar Periasamy is set to make his Bollywood debut with a film produced by Bhushan Kumar. Industry insiders revealed that the director’s storytelling skills and conviction impressed the producer, leading to discussions for this project.

Meanwhile, Dhanush is busy with multiple ventures, including Kubera, a theatrical release directed by Sekhar Kammula. The film stars Nagarjuna Akkineni and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles. With Dhanush’s collaboration with Rajkumar Periasamy, audiences can expect another impactful cinematic experience.
