Wales saw their Euro 2020 adventure come to a crashing halt at the hands of Denmark in Amsterdam.

Kapser Dolberg scored two goals before Joakim Maehle and Martin Braithwaite added one each to complete a resounding victory over Rob Page’s men.

Wales started strongly in the same formation that had expertly dismantled Turkey in the group stages.

However, the inability to find the net allowed Denmark to slowly grab the initiative.

Dolberg who was called upon in the absence of the injured Yussuf Poulsen was the first to strike.

He was fed by the young sensation, Mikkel Damsgaard and cut in on his right foot to curl home a sublime low drive from the edge of the box.

Next, Braithwaite broke free and playing a low cross in to the far post, and substitute Neco Williams, lost his presence of mind diverting the ball straight to Dolberg, who finished it without fuss.

Maehle struck a terrific angled effort two minutes from time to make it 3-0.

THe former Cardiff City man Andreas Cornelius teed up with Braithwaite whose accurate left-footer thundered into the left corner of the net, completing the 4-0 humiliation.
