Delhi Capitals are left with a lot of purchases to be made. After a poor season in the IPL 2023, it looks as if Delhi wants to revamp their side a bit. As a result, Delhi released some of its players like Manish Pandey, Sarfaraz Khan, and others. Ahead of the IPL 2024, Delhi have a lot of slots to be filled and have a good amount of money left.

DC have 9 slots to be filled, out of which, 4 players can be brought from overseas teams. They have a purse of INR 28.95 crores left. The return of Rishabh Pant would solve them a couple of problems. But they would still be left with some issues, particularly in the middle order, where they struggled to find some consistent batters in the IPL 2023.

Ahead of the IPL 2024, Delhi would be looking to fill some of the slots. DC would be eyeing to get players who can be reliable in the middle order and be useful in death bowling. Although they had a good attack last season, they would be looking to strengthen their attack with an overseas pacer. DC would be looking to buy some overseas pacers as well.

Options ahead of Delhi Capitals

DC have some very good options in front of them. They have 4 top-order batters in their lineup David Warner, Phil Salt, Prithvi Shaw, and Mitchell Marsh. Even if one of them is to bat in the middle order, they need options for numbers 5 and 6, along with Rovman Powell. Hence, DC might be targeting Kiwi players like Rachin Ravindra and Daryl Mitchell, who can be suitable for the roles.

Apart from that, DC need a world-class pacer. There are many such options in the auction like Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, Lockie Ferguson, and others. But DC might target Gerald Coetzee of South Africa, who is younger than all of them in the auction. Given the love of DC for the young players, it would not be surprising to see the young pacer in the dugout of DC.
